What are MESD & CCRRC?
Did you know that the Sprout Academy works closely with MESD (Multnomah Education Services District) and CCRRC (Child Care Resource & Referral Center)? These are two great organizations that aim to inform parents & teachers alike about the latest information available regarding developmental delays, as well as what resources are available to us so we can be proactive!
Every child develops at his or her own pace, but there are social, emotional, cognitive & physical benchmarks to watch for & expect. The best thing you can do if you have any concerns about a child’s level of development for his or her age is to ask questions early. Early Intervention WORKS and gives children the best possible chance at success!
There is an online parent-completed ASQ (Ages & Stages Questionnaire) offered by the Oregon Department of Education & the University of Oregon’s Early Intervention program that you can take. It’s a great place to start if you would like to asses whether your child is developing typically for his or her chronological age. After you complete the questionnaire, results and info can be emailed to you at your request!
We want to share as many resources with you about development (or any other area of interest) as possible. Let us know how else we can help!
